A Wilder Harmony
Expanding Our Capacity for Life

A living expression of Cosmic Musicianship

A Wilder Harmony began as a fully outdoor preschool founded by Lisa Allen and Jennifer MacGregor Dennis. Over the years, the A Wilder Harmony vision grew organically from Allen’s life as a teacher, Juilliard‑trained flutist, wife, mother, grandmother, and lifelong student of intergenerational healing.

A Wilder Harmony is now part of a larger framework Allen calls cosmic musicianship—her name for the complex improvisational ensemble sensitivity that shapes how she perceives and engages with the world. Cosmic musicianship is the wider relational field; A Wilder Harmony is one of its expressions, a practice devoted to expanding our capacity for life.

Music has always drawn Allen toward the question of how we tune in to one another—what we gain, what we sometimes lose, and how those choices shape the greater harmony of our lives. The word Wilder reminds her that real harmony is not sterile or perfect, but alive, untamed, and deeply human. It invites joy, generosity, and collaboration.

A Wilder Harmony is not about bypassing pain. It is about engaging deeply and compassionately, expanding our ability to respond with courage, faith, and hope—the fibers of resilience. It rests on the belief that harmony is social, emotional, and spiritual as much as musical.

With time, these practices reveal the quiet but powerful social intelligence at the heart of human connection.

Similar ideas are sprouting up like wildflowers in small corners across the globe. This is one such corner.

I’d love to hear from you.

— Lisa Allen
